My Favorite Video Games

Some of my favorite video games are Oblivion, Fallout, Minecraft, and Battlefield. All these games have something in common; they are all games where you can explore a new world. Oblivion is set in a time with swords and sorcery while Fallout is set in a post-apocalyptic nuclear war setting where you must scavenge and survive the terrors that are in the wasteland. Minecraft offers a different feel because it is more a building game rather than an exploration game. There is still exploration but Minecraft is more focused jpgon who can build the best house or, building totally outrageous creations. All games have trends and those are that the player is in control and play how they want with no boundaries.

Minecraft

Minecraft is a game made by Mojang about exploration and adventure. You use simple tools such as a pickaxe and an axe to mine resources and better your self for the night. At night you defend yourself from zombies and skeletons. To mine even better resources you must dig in to a cave or ravine that could possibly have Diamond or Iron. Minecraft is fun but also educational. If a person built a house that person must of counted the certain blocks in order to create that house. When Minecraft is used in the classroom it teaches children the fundamentals of math while also having fun at the same time

Oblivion

Oblivion is a game made by Bethesda Softworks set in a time with swords and magic where you play as a prisoner who has escaped from prison. You are set on a task to fight the people who killed Emperor Uriel Septim VII who at the time was the king and also close the gates of Oblivion which had opened all over Tamriel. Todd Howard the lead designer of this game who works at Bethesda Softworks is a man who likes the player to be in control. If the player wants to be an evil person, they can. If they want to be an angel, they can do that too. What decides this is choices you make throughout the game, they will decide if you are liked among people or hated. This game also gives you lots of weapons and ways to play the game . You could play with a magic character or take the opposite direction and play with only a sword. All these elements come together make a great game with amazing gameplay.

Fallout

Fallout is another game made by Bethesda Softowrks which is a lot like in Oblivion where you have lots of options on how you want to make your character. Your are a dweller in a vault hundreds of years after a nuclear explosion wiped the whole planet. When your father leaves the safety of the vault you take a risk and follow in his footsteps to find exactly whats going on. Unlike Oblivion this game is not swords and magic, instead it is guns and laser weapons. You must survive in this post apocalyptic setting filled with ghouls,radiated mutants, and other insects.

Battlfield

Battlefield is made by Dice and is much different than any of the other games I have mentioned. It is a FPS war game where you must kill enemy soldiers and gain advantages to win the game. There are many weapons to keep you entertained for a long period of time and runs a lot smoother than Battlefield 3. They also listened to fans because the button mapping in the game is more like Call of Duty now. Battlefield requires more skill to play than Call of Duty.

Interest in Military

I have always wanted to be in the Military since I was little. The idea of giving back to your country has always seemed rewarding in my mind. In ROTC in high school you are being prepared for your entrance into the military.

Interest in Computers and Technology

My interests now in life have a lot to do with technology. Technology has always made me wonder about the future and how humans have evolved so much from our primitive days as cave men. More specifically my interest in technology lies in computers and video games. I love to know what makes a computer work and how all those components work together to make it happen. I am also very entertained with video games and want to know how to make so I can make people enjoy them the same way I enjoy all the games I play. I am a person who not only loves technology but I believe that all software should be freeware (to an extent). An example is what I am typing this on. It is Microsoft Word 2010 but it is not free so I had to go to the pirate bay to get a copy of this. I believe pirating is not a bad thing and one should be able to download movies without their ISP's breathing down your neck watching everything you download. I do believe it's bad for the developers because they are not earning as much profit but if I like a game or movie so much I will buy it but I usually pirate things because I do not have the money to go out and buy it.

Interest in Music

Music is very amusing. In music there are several beats and rhythms that make up this one composed piece of work. It is amazing how music can change a person's life. To me music is a motivator whether you're doing chores or working on homework it always seems to get me more focused on the task at hand.

Interest in TV

TV is a bad way to kill time but it expands your imagination horizon. My favorite TV shows are The Flash, Heroes, and Supernatural. These shows all explore not real concepts such as superpowers or things like demons and angels. Youtube is where I do a lot of surfing on the web. It is great for many tutorials for any topic that you could possibly think of. I always find my self on Youtube if I need help in a topic at school or need to fix a part for my car. Also my water heater at my house was broken and a Youtube video helped me fix it.

Interest in Videogames

Video games are a passion of mine. I was introduced to the topic of videogames as a child and always liked to play them. I love exploring unknown worlds, or jumping online to socialize with my friends. It is an excuse to jump away from the real world and have fun. For other people books provide the same type of dun but for me it is video games. Also video games can be educational, for example Minecraft can teach children patterns and counting. You practice socializing if playing with friends or while making friends because of the video games. Video games are not always bad, but the person playing should prioritize their playing time.
